The Director - Charles Myricks, Jr.

Min. Charles J. Myricks is a graduate with special distinction in marketing and management from Anderson University (Anderson, IN). He also has received a Master's degree in homiletics from Ashland Theological Seminary. Professionally, his business career has included positions in sales, marketing, and management at IBM and InterBold. He had the honor of being the first African-American to occupy the office of Vice President and General Manager for one of the top five Christian music labels. He served for five years as the VP/GM of Word Gospel Records in Nashville, TN. Under his leadership, Word Gospel's recordings garnered several Grammy, Dove and Stellar Awards. Min. Chuck was also instrumental in distributing the only multi-platinum gospel recording in the modern era of Gospel music.

As the founder of "Divine Hope" a gospel music ministry, he traveled extensively throughout the U.S, Europe and South Africa sharing a unique blend of original, contemporary, jazz inflected gospel music. With multiple recordings to their credit, Divine Hope was also the Grand Prize Winner of the 700 Club/Star Song records National New Artist Search. His 2004 collaboration with the Ohio Ballet led to the premier of a new Ballet titled "Transformation!" featuring all new music composed by Chuck, and performed by Divine Hope.

Chuck has written two musicals: "The Miracle of Love" a Christmas musical about the love story of Joseph and Mary and "Paul: A Musical Journey," a new full length opera, focusing on the life of the Apostle Paul. Currently, he is working on a new musical on the life of King David.

Answering the call of God on his life, Min. Chuck is in full-time ministerial service, currently serving as the Minister of Finance and Development at Arlington Church of God in Akron, Ohio. He is married to Sheri Myricks and they have three children, Kathryn Elizabeth, Kristen Nichelle, and Charles James III.

A deep believer in community involvement, he serves as Chairman of the Akron Gospel Festival and on the Board of Trustees of Anderson University (Anderson, IN). He has served as: Chairman of Jobs for Ohio's Graduates, Chairman Advisory Council East Akron Salvation Army, Board of Directors for the Akron Urban League, Board of Directors for Open M (Akron, Oh), Akron Rotary, and on the Board of Directors of the United Gospel Industry Council
